Cancun Vacation More Memorable

Cancun area tourist attractions

Instead of booking just a hotel, an active all inclusive resort vacation in Cancun is an excellent choice for the young at heart.

However, if you are among the number of travellers who like freedom of choice - combined with the cost-savings of an all-inclusive resort deal - here are 12 ways to "break out" and enjoy the colorful local Cancun scene:

1. Isla Mujers “Island of Women”
At the island there is a choice of snorkeling, bike riding or simply laying back and working on a suntan...

2. Caribbean Carnival
The day tour consists of a morning at leisure to enjoy the facilities, go snorkeling, visit the nearby turtle farm or go on a bike ride. The evening tour is all about fun, there is a buffet dinner followed by a Caribbean show, party games and music for dancing.

3. Tulum “Walled City”
Mounted on the edge of a cliff, this abandoned city towers above the deep turquoise of the Caribbean and a beautiful white sandy beach. Tulum reached its peak in the Post-classic period between 1,000 and 1,600 AD.

3. Xel-Ha (pronounced shell-ha)
A large area of protected inlets and lagoons, Xel-ha is a beautiful natural aquarium, home to many varieties of colorful tropical fish.

4. Xcaret “Little inlet”
This so-called ‘sacred paradise’ is located 1-hours drive south of Cancun. Xcaret (pronounced eesh-carette) is one of the loveliest and most unusual venues in the area.

5. Chichen Itza “Mouth of the well of the Itzas”
The site flourished in the Classic period of the Maya between 300 and 900 AD and then appears to have been abandoned, then re-inhabited around 1000 AD when the Toltecs arrived from central Mexico.

6. Jungle Tour
Two persons are assigned to each waverunner or a guide leads speedboat and a total of 10 in each group.

7. Scuba Diving
The clear waters of the Caribbean and the colorful tropical fish attract divers from all over the world.

8. Deep Sea Fishing
Specially fitted boats are available in Cancun as the Caribbean has a variety of game fish and aspiring anglers can enjoy a day trying to hook some of these impressive big fish.

9. Horseback Riding
A 40-minute drive south of Cancun lies a ranch and stables with over 100 horses suitable for all riders – from beginners to experienced.

10. Lobster Cruise
Enjoy a beautiful sunset cruise on board of an Old Spanish Ship, dance under the stars and enjoy a delicious surf and turf dinner with the best night view of the Hotel zone.

11. ATV - (All Terrain Vehicle) Tour
Only at 45 minutes from Cancun, you will find the best tour on your own ATV. Its a fun trail trough the jungle admiring and enjoying the wild life of the area.

12. Swim With the Dolphins
Enjoy a once in a lifetime experience. Swim with the dolphins in the Caribbean Sea "Parque Nizuc" offers you the chance to do it without leaving Cancun.
