Year... And A New Look For You!
Celebrity Make-Up Artist
For Natalie Portman
And Cate Blanchett
Offers The Latest Fashion
Tips
The New Year has just arrived
with the latest in fashion news, including resolutions you can actually keep!
One of today's top celebrity make-up artists tells us what's hot for fashion,
and she says there are many easy ways to get that look yourself to start the new
year right. Jeanine
Lobell, Stila cosmetics creator/founder and make-up artist to stars like Natalie
Portman, Cate Blanchett and other top celebrities, says it's all about glamour,
bold colors with a feminine touch. Bright
lips are hot this year. Lobell says if you go for classic red, keep your eye make-up
subtle. If you don't, your lips and eyes will compete with each other. Another
tip is using the right make-up tools. Red lips go a long way with the right lip
brush and a big, beautiful white smile.
Men
Are the Fastest Growing Segment of the Beauty Industry, Spending $14 Billion
A Year
Think women are the only ones striving for a new look this year? Think again.
Men's grooming is now the fastest growing segment in the beauty industry, spending
$14 billion dollars a year on beauty products. Market researchers predict the
men's toiletries segment is expected to grow at an annual rate of 4.5 to 5 percent
through 2008. Judging
by the numbers, good grooming doesn't mean being part of an elite group. These
days, everyday husbands and dads are jumping at the chance to polish their style.
The reason? Most say it's the women in their lives. They've seen the positive
effects anti-aging skin and hair products have had on their wives and girlfriends.
Now, they want in on the action. From hair color to skincare, a little grooming
can go a long way for most men. Experts offer the following low-maintenance tips
for men: - Stick with products you know, but update them. 50 percent of
all men use hair gel, but today's gels are less thick and goopy than ever before.
Spread it evenly to prevent flaking.
- Condition, condition, condition. Most
men skip conditioner in the show. But it actually works to alleviate dry hair
and scalp.
- It's all in the cut. Cut your hair regularly since long hair looks
thinner.
