Ryan Moore. Remember the name, because you'll probably be hearing more about the "new kid" with the strange golf swing (video) in the months and years ahead. Born December 12, 1982 in Tacoma, Washington, Moore later attended the Cascade Christian School in Puyallup, Washington where he lettered four times in golf and was named two-time AJGA All-American and ranked 17th among U.S. Boys by Golfweek. He also lettered in high school baseball, the sport from which Moore likely derived the special "Moore swing" - resembling not so much a golf drive as a grand slam home run. And he manages to do without much effort, and consistently. Enough, at least, to become the most decorated player in the University of Nevada Las Vegas college golf program. He later became a record breaker with an unprecedented five wins in five major amateur championships and became a top amateur in the 2005 Masters Golf Tournament. Following graduaton from UNLV, Moore not surprisingly turned professional and immediately inspired comparisons with the brash confidence once exibited by a young golf phenom named Tiger Woods. However, those who know him say he is entering the major leagues as none other than a confident (and some say, increasingly cocky) Ryan Moore. Watch and see...
