Winter Wedding Ideas

winter wedding centerpieceCongratulations! You've picked the perfect season to warmly celebrate your wedding vows with the ones you love.

In addition, since winter is usually the off season for the wedding industry, you may well find wedding halls, wedding photographers and caterers willing to negotiate a wonderland of wedding discounts.

Some brides may opt for a Christmas winter wedding. It's the season of joy, after all!

And what better way to celebrate than with a promise of eternal love than on Valentine's Day?

Winter wedding & honeymoon planning

Beware, however, planning your winter wedding too close to the Christmas holidays, since prices will rise in correlation with the holiday party season. On the upside, your venue will probably already be decorated for the holidays, so there's great savings on lights and decorations if you're planning on a Christmas theme.

Another added advantage? Off peak winter vacation honeymoons are probably the most affordable throughout the year, and a great excuse to escape to a warm, tropical island for fun in the sun.

Lace, Statice, Star of Bethlehem, White Roses

Overall, a winter wedding may take special thought, but the fun and special memories that result are definitely worth all the early planning.

Just remember to book your reception venue way in advance, and be sure to send out your invitations as early as possible so that friends and relatives can plan to attend your winter wedding during what may be a very busy holiday season.

Winter wedding colors & decorations

Besides the Christmas theme of ruby reds and emerald greens, also consider the traditional winter wonderland theme in shades of dark and icy blues, or build your decorating theme around a white wedding — complete with artifical snow, silver snowflakes, and stunning white flowers such as tulips, gardenias or calla lillies.
