The annual
World Series of Poker showdown features such events as Lowball,
Seven-card and Omaha and - the most popular event by far - Texas
Hold 'em.
Ultimately,
the world's top poker players battle it out during the last round
in a marathon game of No-Limit
Hold 'em resulting in the winner of that event named WSOP
world champion.
In
2009, that was Joe
Cada of Shelby Township, Michigan who at 21 became the youngest
ever winner of the WSOP in its 40-year history.
Last year,
Peter
Eastgate was the big 2008 winner after taking home the $9
million pot. The 22-year-old Danish player was the youngest WSOP
winner ever until Joe Cada took the pot in 2009. Jerry
Yang, a 39-year-old psychologist who admitted to having used
his training to beat the best, was the WSOP $8.25 million top
prize winner in 2007.
