Golden Globe AwardsDID YOU KNOW? Golden Globe fun facts

• Traditionally, a three-course meal is served up to Hollywood stars at the Beverly Hilton International Ballroom several hours before the awards. Champagne, however, is served non-stop throughout the evening -- resulting in some very entertaining acceptance speeches.

• Since space is limited within the ballroom, the Golden Globes is the hottest ticket in Tinseltown. If you're not a nominee or celeb, you're not invited.

• Amy Poehler is the only person to win a Golden Globe while hosting the show, winning for her lead role on “Parks and Recreation” in 2014.

• “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” is the only film to win all five major Golden Globes. In 1976 it won for Best Motion Picture, Actor, Actress, Director and Screenplay.

• The oldest Golden Globe winner was 80-year-old Jessica Tandy for "Driving Miss Daisy" in 1990. The youngest was 9-year-old Ricky Schroder in 1980 for his starring role in "The Champ."

• The Golden Globe statuette, depicting a golden globe on a pedestal, is estimated to cost $800 each and plated in 24-karat gold. The statuette is 10.75 inches tall, 3.5 inches wide, and weighs a hefty 5.5 pounds.
