Push takes top prize in 2009

In 2010, Sundance remains one of the hottest tickets of the movie year (available online in festival passes, individual or package rates) as big-name stars join the Sundance scene in Park City, Utah - from January 21 through January 31, 2010 - with a new collection of independently produced and buzzed-about films.

Sundance 2009 recap

In 2009, big press surrounded such films as the gritty cop drama "Brooklyn's Finest," Ashton Kutcher's gigolo dramedy "Spread," and the Susan Sarandon-Pierce Brosnan drama "The Greatest."

There was also instant raves for the filmed version of the Broadway musical "Passing Strange" directed by Spike Lee.

The big winner, however, was "Push: Based on the Novel by Sapphire", which claimed three prizes for its dark tale of an overweight girl growing up in Harlem, with special kudo's going to Mariah Carey in the role as an urban social worker
