Most sculptors are solitary artists working on projects in workshops or installation sites. Organizations provide a method of easy communication, the ability to see what members are working on, and information on exhibitions to gain recognition for work.

Besides a great place to network and socialize, organizations may offer other benefits such as healthcare coverage or discounts on equipment and supplies.

Most associations have an index that lists members or provides links to members' sites. Learn more about professional activities, sign up for membership, or view sculptors' work in online galleries in this guide to sculptors' associations, organizations and guilds worldwide.

International Sculpture Center
- Conferences, publications, and special events are just the beginning of the resources available through this site. International destinations for exhibitions, searchable listings of members' portfolios where art work can be bought or commissioned, an active forum for professional discussions and much more for both the artist and members of the public who appreciate the art form.

National Sculpture Society - The oldest organization of professional sculptors in the United States provides a searchable database of individual sculptors. Select the focus of the work from categories such as animals, allegorical, female figure and others. The search results bring up a sample of work along with contact info.

Royal Society of British Sculptors - Find professional advice including information on awards, events, news and more for UK sculptors. Search through the RBS Online Gallery for a very nice presentation of individual work. They also provide Professional Development Seminars for Sculptors, Sculpting A Living to help professionals hone their business skills.

Visual Artists Ireland (formerly Sculptors Society of Ireland) - This is an organization that is focused on the professional visual artist incorporating many media in one site. There is no search of artists portfolios, but plenty of news, projects, an online newsletter, career and educational resources, calls for exhibitions, links, insurance and more...

The Association of Sculptors of Victoria - Professional organization for Victoria, Australia with current news, on going exhibitions and juried prizes, search of members and links to members web sites, memberships info, links to other Australian and international associations. [Thanks to ormi for the suggestion]

Texas Society of Sculptors - Austin-based sculptors' guild offering education, juried shows, and an annual Sculpt-Fest.

The Society of Portrait Sculptors - The name is self explanatory, the site is easy on the eyes and with a simple design, easy to move about. Exhibitions and awards are represented and there are a few links to other sculpting sites. There doesn't seem to be a search of individual members, but they do offer assistance if you are interested in commissioning a sculpted portrait.
