Engine Optimization
Once your
business Web site is up and running, you face the fact that on
the Internet ..."build it and they will come" doesn't
work. You discover a whole new field that you need to get familiar
with called search engine optimization.
In it's simplest
form SEO is just making your site easy to use, getting lots of
good sites to link to your site, and adding lots of quality content
to give your visitors. On the technical end, it also means getting
your page title and other "meta-tags" in good shape
for the search engine "spiders" and listing your site
in the best directories.
Search engine
optimization is making your site the one that the search engines
will serve up when people look for your keywords. If that doesn't
sound really easy...it's because it isn't. What it comes down
to is... "optimize and they will come."
SEO do's
and don'ts
You can optimize
your site for search engines yourself, or you can hire someone
to do it for you, but either way you'll need to know at least
the basics of good, ethical SEO. Even if you hire an expert to
optimize your site, you need to know that the job is being done
the right way!
Watch out
for unethical SEO techniques - they make work for a short while,
but in the long run your site will get dropped by the search engines
and all your hard work and investment in your Web site will be
lost. There are plenty of Web site owners crying because they
blindly followed someone else's SEO suggestions and lost hard
earned placement through spammy manipulations.

certainty, but this article provides a technical description of how trust rank is calculated based
on a seminal paper published in 2002.
Trust
Rank Wikipedia - An article that describes trust rank
in understandable terms and provides good links to find out more

trust rank are assumed to be mature, high ranking .edu, .gov &
reputable corporate sites, the rank can be dampened or split before
it gets to you. Best advice seems to be to run a good quality
site that other top sites will want to recommend to their users.
