Gators play in the Southeastern
Conference and have moved 24 players into the NBA throughout the years, and continue to have the potential
of adding more names to that list.
Donovan, one of the highest paid coaches in college basketball, has brought the Gators to the
NCAA tournament in a big way.
The Gators have won two national championships -- in 2006 and 2007 back-to-back -- becoming the first team to ever do it with the same starting line-up. More recently, the Gators advance to the Elite Eight in 2011 and in the 2012 NCAA Tournament again advanced to the Elite Eight only to be defeated by Louisville. They made it to the Elite 8 the following year, as well, only to go down in defeat against Michigan.
In 2014, the Gators were ranked the No. 1 seed overall and advanced to the Final Four, but on the way to championship glory were stopped in their tracks by the Connecticut Huskies.
This year, Florida team has not had its best season on the road to 2015 March Madness, but as is always the case with college basketball, things change swiftly...
