MAIN Basketball College Basketball Georgetown Hoyas

Head coach John Thompson III and the Georgetown University Hoyas play Division I basketball in the Big East Conference.

Since 1920, the Hoyas have been regular season champions only 4 times but have been tournament champions 10 times. They have entered the final four five times but only made it to victory and claimed the NCAA championship once in 1984.

Seeded a #2 in 2008, the Hoyas were eliminated byCinderella team, #10 Davidson, in the second round.

Patrick Ewing and Henry Hyde were Hoyas before they made history. Ewing went on to play in the NBA and Henry Hyde was a member of the United States House of Representatives.
