The Tigers play in the Southeastern Conference. Their winning history reaches back to their first national championship in 1935. They were SEC Champs in 1935, 1953, 1954, 1979, 1981, 1985, 1991 and 2000. They were in the Final Four of the NIT in 1970. In their 18 NCAA Championship Tournament appearances they advanced four times to the Final 4 - including their current 2005-2006 March Madness performance.

Their stars are household names... from Bob Pettit’s 1950s fantastic record to 1969 & 1970 Player of the Year, Pete Maravich and 1991 Player of the Year, Shaquille O’Neal... a roster of Hall of Famers have played for the Tigers through the years and the current team features athletes who have the potential of adding their names to that list.
