1 spot in the NCAA in 100 years, the Tennessee Volunteers rose
to the very top of their game against the former first-place Memphis
Tigers with a 66-62 victory in late February 2008.
Head coach Bruce Pearl and the University of Tennessee Volunteers play
Division I basketball in the Southeastern Conference.

Volunteers have had 15 NCAA
tournament appearances with an overall record of 11-16, a record
of 8-6 in the first round, 3-5 in the second, and 0-4 in the regional
semi finals.
