Head coach Rick Barnes has successfully led the University of Texas Longhorns in Division I basketball in the Big 12 Conference.

Having inherited a team coming off a losing 1998-1999 season, coach Rick Barnes created one of the most dramatic turnarounds in college sports history, and has since helped advance the longhorns into an NCAA basketball powerhourse.

The Longhorns have been regular season champions 24 times, and have had a school-record 12 NCAA Tournament appearances. These have included 1 Final Four appearance, 3 Elite Eight appearances, 5 Sweet Sixteen appearances and they have entered the Final Four 3 times.
