In
the 1985 NCAA tournament the Villanova Wildcat team defeated Patrick Ewing and
the defending champion, Georgetown, in the championship game. Villanova holds
the record of being the lowest seed (#8) to win the NCAA championship. In 2006
they entered the tournament seeded # 1.
So far, the Villanova Wildcats have appeared in the NCAA Tournament 30 times, the 8th highest total in NCAA history. .
Michael
Bradley, Chris Ford, Kerry Kittles, Bill Melchionni, and Alvin Williams all played
for Nova before going pro.
