Wildcats In
the 1985 NCAA tournament the Villanova Wildcat team defeated Patrick Ewing and
the defending champion, Georgetown, in the championship game. Villanova holds
the record of being the lowest seed (#8) to win the NCAA championship. In 2006
they entered the tournament seeded # 1. The 2009 season saw 'Nova seeded #3 in
the East walk past UCLA into the Sweet Sixteen.
Villanova
head coach, Jay Wright, was named 2009 BIG EAST Coach of the Year. Michael
Bradley, Chris Ford, Kerry Kittles, Bill Melchionni, and Alvin Williams all played
for Nova before going pro. Villanova
