Led by head coach Jay Wright, the Wildcats have advanced to four Sweet 16's, two Elite Eights and one Final Four.
It's greatest recent victory with its win over Pittsburgh in the 2009 March Madness tourney lifted the Wildcats into the Final Four for the first time since winning the 1985 NCAA title (when they defeated Patrick Ewing and
the defending champion, Georgetown, in the final.)
So far, the Villanova Wildcats have appeared in the NCAA Tournament 32 times, the 8th highest total in NCAA history.
As fertile ground for future NBA champs, Michael
Bradley, Chris Ford, Kerry Kittles, Bill Melchionni, and Alvin Williams have all played
for Nova before going pro.
