Led by head coach and Notre Dame alumni Charlie Weis, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish are battling back after lackluster 2007-2008 seasons noted for the most loses in recent memory.

In 2009, however, Notre Dame has a year to look forward to, as well as decades of glory to fall back on.

To date, the Fighting Irish have won more national championships than any other college football team and are tied with Ohio State and USC for Heisman Trophy winner boasting rights.

In addition, NFL superstars who once called Notre Dame Stadium home (known as "The House that Rockne built" for legendary coach Knute Rockne) have included Paul Hornung, Alan Page, Joe Montana and Nick Buoniconti.
