Coming
from decades of lackluster performances in the 80's and 90's, the
University of Texas Longhorns (led by head coach Mack
Brown since 1998) have successfully regained their reputation
this decade as the team to beat.
With regular appearances in the Top Ten in major polls, in 2006
Texas marked their 800th win when they beat favored USC
at the 2006 Rose Bowl.
This
being Texas, the team's home field is the Darrel K. Royal-Texas
Memorial Stadium in Austin now even bigger following 2005-2007
renovations that included the nation's first HD video screen, a.k.a.
the "Godzillatron."
