Up until recently led by head coach Bill Stewart, West Virginia had rode high on its remarkable 48-28 victory over Oklahoma in the 2008 Fiesta Bowl. As interim coach, Stewart (following the sudden departure of Rich Rodriquez three weeks before) took the team to one of the more stunning and improbable games in Virginia Tech history.

But the drama was only about to unfold.

The tide was about to turn when in 2009 - and in 2010, as well - the Mountaineers failed miserably in their end-of-season bowl matchups as Stewart's leadership was suddenly called into question. Meanwhile, add to that a juicy little scandal involving Stewart's attempt at smearing his assistant coach, Dana Holgorsen, which led to his being forced out by school officials (Stewart officialy resigned) and you have all the makings of The Housewives Head Coaches of West Virginia.

Enough with the insider angst .... with Dana Holgorsen now instated as head coach let's turn to the 2011 season to see if the Mountaineers can once again climb back up to the top of the heap.
