National Pancake Day 2024
In recent years, IHOP National Pancake Day has become a moveable feast with dates that change from year to year.
This year, participating IHOP restaurants nationwide will again tempt guests with a free stack of buttermilk pancakes on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m at participating locations.
The deal comes as part of IHOP's “help end hunger nationwide” during IHOP’s February Month of Giving, in partnership with Feeding America, a US network of food banks and local food programs.
More feel good news? Guests will be invited to add $1, $2, $3 or more to their total upon checkout, and for every $1 donated throughout the month of February, 10 meals will be donated to those facing hunger.
With a
goal of raising millions of dollars in its annual free pancake giveaway,
IHOP hopes their free offer will prompt customers to give generously.
All about National Pancake Day
Now in its 17th year, IHOP began holding the fundraiser in observance
of Fat Tuesday in 2006.
Throughout history, the Tuesday before
Ash Wednesday marked the beginning
of fasting before Easter, when milk and egg products were
forbidden. To use up all the ingredients, household cooks traditionally made heaping stacks
of pancakes, and IHOP continues that tradition today -- with an additional focus on charitable giving during the Lenten season.
So watch for events and activities surrounding the celebration, with opportunities to support national charities throughout the month.
Traditionally, more than four million free flapjacks are served on National Pancake Day and more than $3 million raised for charity. In 202r visitors are expected to top that record at IHOP's nationwide to help the cause of supporting those less fortunate than themselves.
So sit right down and help yourself to a stack of buttermilk pancakes that not only taste good, but FEEL good as you help make a huge diffference in the lives of the less fortunate.
