Part Time & Summer Jobs
In
a tight job market where your competition lines up for for
steady part time, get a head start in March or April for jobs
throughout the summer.
By
getting your contact details and winning personality in front
of prospective employees early, you'll increase your chances
when summer finally rolls around. Meanwhile, make occasional
call backs or personal appearances to help them decide who
they may be hiring in June (That's YOU!)
Think
several income streams: Lawn mowing, burger slinging, baby-sitting,
dogwalking or house-sitting (while your neighbors go off on
vacation) can all add up to a little more than pocket money.
Summer
camp counselor or pool lifeguard are also great for full-time
gigs from June to August.
Be
persistent, and spread the word among teachers, guidance counselors,
family, friends, teachers - or even your Great Aunt Alice
- that you're on the market for a cool summer or after-school
job.
