North Carolina imposes state taxes in four tax brackets with rates ranging from 6.0% – 7.75% depending on income and filing status.
Residents are required to file state income taxes using form D400 each year by April 15. When that date falls on a weekend or holiday, filers get until the next business day to submit their state returns.
This year, the filing deadline to submit 2018 IRS tax returns is Monday, April 15, 2019.
