Oklahoma imposes income tax rates ranging from 0.5 percent to a high of 5.5 percent over 7 tax brackets depending on income and filing status. Oklahoma residents are required to file taxes using Form 511 by April 15 of each year. When that date falls on a weekend or holiday, filers get until the next business day to submit their state returns.

NOTE: In 2012, the traditional filing deadline of April 15 falls on a Sunday, and Emancipation Day - a holiday observed in the District of Columbia - falls on Monday. Therefore, the deadline this year for filing taxes is April 17, 2012 giving everyone two extra days to file their taxes.
