MAIN Art & ... Pop Culture 2008 ALMA Awards

ALMA - which stands for American Latino Media Arts - and also means "soul" in español - was back in primetime this year with a national telecast of annual awards honoring the best of Latin entertainers.

This year, the awards schedule is being pushed back later in the year, so watch for nominees to be announced on June 17, 2008.

The ceremony, which once again is hosted by actress Eva Longoria, airs on ABC Television on Friday, September 5, 2008 at 8PM ET.

And if you miss it, no sweat — ABC plans to rebroadcast the show in its entirety on Friday, September 12.

Rocker Prince and singer Beyonce were the featured performers and were joined on stage by Jessica Alba, Andy Garcia, George Lopez, Mario Lopez, Los Lonely Boys, Carlos Mencia and Eva Mendes.
