New York born and raised, Alyssa Milano began her acting career in 1980 at an open audition for the first national tour of Annie. After months on the road, she was back in New York on off-Broadway, and later in television commercials.

She was all of ten years old when, in 1983, she landed her breakthrough role on the sitcom Who's the Boss? as Tony Danza's daughter Samantha Micelli, and literally grew up before the world in an acting stint that lasted some eight years.

Later, Alyssa teamed with Spelling Television to play Jennifer Mancini on Melrose Place, then in a starring role in the very successful WB hit, Charmed.

Of late, Milano has been most in the news for using her celebrity status in partnership with UNICEF raising awareness for that organization's mission to aid millions of children around the world.

In 2007, she has also been the subject of tabloid rumors linking her romantically with singer Justin Timberlake following his breakup with actress Cameron Diaz.
