Hosted again by Phil Keoghan, Amazing Race All Stars kicked off with a 90 minute premiere on February 18, 2007 at 8:30 PM. Every season teams of adventurers have traveled from one exotic location to another. The race has pretty well captured the American imagination and each season has produced favorite teams. There were also the villains that you were glad to see out of the race, but kind of missed when they were gone. In the 2007 season, we got to see the best teams, the All Stars, from past seasons. For many fans, the teams are familiar faces that you've either rooted for — or against — before. Newer viewers got to meet the cream of the crop from past seasons as they competed in international travel to see who would finish the Amazing race first bring home the All Star crown. Destinations this season included Argentina, Mozambique, Chile, Guam and the South Pole! The teams covered 45,000 miles on five continents in 28 days. Amazing Race 11, featured some of your favorite teams from as far back as 2001. Two friends who met as Miss USA contestants, couples who are dating, married or now just friends are among the 11 teams in competition. There didn't seem to be any pattern to the positions that the All Star teams finished the last time they appeared. Only one winner, Uchenna & Joyce, were asked to return. A couple of the All Star teams were second place finishers, but then there was also Danielle Turner whose team finished in eighth place. To everyone's relief, none of TAR Family Edition were brought back for this trip. The biggest question at the start was whether Rob or Mirna would win the title of the most manipulative players in this season's Amazing Race. Guess Mirna came out on top since she made it to the finale. Which of the last three teams did you want to see finish first? This is one you'll have to put on your TV viewing schedule. Amazing Race 11 Teams: WINNERS - Eric & Danielle - Eric Sanchez, 31, and Danielle (Dee) Turner, 28, of Los Angeles, who met on the show are now dating. They combine two teams from the 9th season. Eric and Jeremy were the "frat boys" who placed 2nd to the "hippies"; Danielle and Dani, the "Double Ds," were eliminated in the fourth round. We'll see how the new combo will do as a team - Eric & Danielle Video 2nd PLACE - Dustin & Kandace - Friends Dustin Konzelman, 24, of Riverside, Calif., and Kandice Pelletier, 24, of New York City, both former Miss USA contestants who finished fourth in season 10 - Dustin & Kandice Video 3rd PLACE - Charla & Mirna - "The Cousins," Charla Baklayan Faddoul, 30, and Mirna Hindoyan, 30, of Towson, MD return from a sixth place finish in season 5 where 4 foot tall Charla won devoted fans and Mirna's tactics made her the contestant everyone loved to hate - Charla & Mirna Video
ELIMINATED John Vito & Jill - The former couple from New York City who are now just good friends, John Vito Pietanza, 32, and Jill Aquilino, 29, took fifth place in season 3 of the Amazing Race - John Vito & Jill Video Kevin & Drew - Fraternity bothers Kevin O'Connor, 40, and Andrew (Drew) Feinberg, 41, fourth place finishers from Season 1 in 2001 are back again. They made a cameo appearance in season 8 - handing out clues for teams in New York at a hot dog stand - Kevin & Drew Video David & Mary - Husband and wife team David Conley, Jr., 33, and Mary Conley, 32, of Stone, KY won many fans and supporters but were eliminated from the race in sixth place during season 10 - David & Mary Video Rob & Amber - In season 7 Rob Mariano, 30, and Amber Brkich Mariano, 28, of Pensacola FL were engaged when the came in right behind Uchenna & Joyce for a second place finish. The team least likely to win friends, but very likely to win TAR returns as a married couple for the Amazing Race All Stars - Rob & Amber Video Teri & Ian - Married adventurers, Teri Pollack, 53, and Ian Pollack, 54, were the team that came in as the runner up in the second season of the Amazing Race - Teri & Ian Video Joe & Bill - "Team Guido" life partners Joe Baldassare, 56, and Bill Bartek, 53, the third place finishers who impressed fans with their sense of humor and ethics in season 1 are back for a new adventure - Joe & Bill Video Uchenna & Joyce - Husband and wife team Uchenna Agu, 42, and Joyce Agu, 46, of Houston, TX who actually won the season 7 race - Uchenna & Joyce Video Oswald & Danny - One of the all time favorite teams, gay friends Oswald Mendez, 36, and Danny Jimenez, 41, the fourth place "Cha-Cha-Cha's" from Season 2 - Oswald & Danny Video The whole concept has fans returning in droves to watch the international travel action in places as extraordinary as Antarctica near the South Pole to a Chilean desert. Then there's also the competition between what have proven to be very entertaining teams in earlier seasons. The All Star 11th season lives up to the hype - Rob & Amber's elimination removed a bit of spice from the competition, but the remaining teams are still fun to watch and visiting places like Zanzibar with them is almost as much fun as packing you bags and sailing there yourself.
