In ABC's hit reality show contestants dance, dine, giggle, and sip champagne while trying to impress the man of the moment.

Who knew what super romantic dating scenes could be arranged while the cameras rolled?

On The Bachelor, doe-eyed bachelorettes all gather, hoping to walk out the winners in the candlelit rose ceremony. Each week, contestants are either gifted with a rose, or sent packing - their egos shattered - and their hopes of meeting Mr. Rightnow dashed on the shores of disillusion.

Each season, you know there will be at least one hot tub scene, several makeout sessions, and the inevitable meeting with the parents when the clock ticks down. As The Bachelor narrows down the field, we swoon through the flirtation, romance and tears.

The Bachelor Season 14

Eliminated by Jillian Harris on The Bachelorette last season, the new Bachelor - 31-year-old Jake Pavelka - hopes he will have better luck finding love during the Bachelor's 14th season, premiering in January 2010.

Hailing from Dallas, where he still resides, Jake is a sometime actor and full-time commercial pilot who likes spontaneity and hopes to find this season a future Mrs. Pavelka who has a similar taste for fun and adventure.
