MAIN Pop Culture Reality TV Beauty and The Geek

Beauty and The Geek was the brain child of Aston Kutcher and Jason Goldberg.

This show followed in the tradition of Big Brother - with beautiful, academically-challenged women paired up with smart but socially-challenged men (um, real geeks) to compete for $250,000 grand prize.

Men and women were coupled to compete in challenges that specifically tested their weaknesses. The women took part in intellectual debates and rocket building, while the men were asked to decorate a room and learn a little about fashion. Each challenge tested how well these partnerships were helping contestants to, as the show puts it, "embrace their inner opposite."

The show exploited stereotypes for our amusement and in such a competitive way for five seasons Tuesday nights at 8 p.m.on the CW channel.
