Music Awards features top solo performers & Latin groups vying
for top honors in such categories as pop, rock, tropical, Mexican
regional music, and Reggaeton.
In 2012, watch for nominees to be announced in early February.
Enrique Iglesias, 2011 Latin Artist of the Year
Then look forward to a glittering award ceremony broadcast on Spanish-language television station Telemundo airing live from Las Vegas on Friday, March 30, 2012.
This year, special honors go to Pitbull, the best selling Latin rapper and singer (born Armando Christian Pérez) with such hits as Give Me Everything, Shake Senora, and Rain Over Me - as he receives the BMI President's Award.
Billboard Latin Music Awards 2011 recap
Pop singer Enrique Iglesias led this year with a total of 14 nominations, followed by another crossover mega-star, Shakira, with 13 nods.
On awards night, there were live performances by Enrique Iglesias, Luis Fonsi, JenCarlos Canela and Gloria Trevi among others.
Special awards in 2011 were bestowed upon Latin music veteran Gloria Estefan who received Billboard's 'Spirit of Hope' Award for her philanthropic work. Joining Estefan was musician Emmanuel who was also honored with Billboard's Lifetime Achievement Award.
