Officially known as the Hindi cinema, Bollywood is a blend of Bombay, India and Hollywood USA, but continues to outshine its American counterpart in terms of tickets sold and yearly output thanks to a huge and loyal following.

Its popularity extends not only to India, but to almost all of the Mideast and South Asia. As such, Bollywood films feature some of the most famous movie stars in the world.

However, with the possible exception of, Aishwarya Rai (the first Indian superstar to show great promise of making the Hollywood cross-over) most of Bollywood's hot actors and actresses are relatively unknown outside the U.S.
