Season 3 Highlights

Dancing With the Stars continues to draw the combo of fans who love the stars and folks who love to watch them dance.

The judges we know and love were back for another season of terrorizing and/or encouraging celebrities and their pro dancing partners. Cheryl Burke, last season's champion, returned along with Tony Dovolani, Edyta Sliwinska, Louis Van Amstel, Ashly Delgrosso, Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Nick Kosovich.

Professional dancers gracing the stage for the first time this season were be Jesse DeSoto, Elena Grinenko, Karina Smirnoff, and Kym Johnson. Although this is the first time we saw her on this show, Kym Johnson was a champion on the Australian Dancing with the Stars.

This year's highlights included a blast from the past - with former teen heart throb Joey Lawrence (Blossom, Brotherly Love) and Mario Lopez (Saved by the Bell) setting the stage for a trip down memory lane.

Of course, the show wouldn't have been complete without the fleet-footed Emmitt Smith who was as good on the dance floor as the football field. Monique Coleman (High School Musical) danced her way into many hearts, but was not on the dance floor for the last dance, and Mr. Lisa Rinna, Harry Hamlin, did not cha-cha his way to the finals after being eliminated in round 3.

Jerry Springer provided the laughs, and hung on for much longer than anyone thought he would. Lots of theatrics, but thankfully there were no flying chairs used in his routines.

No matter who made it through the finals, it was a great season! It was tough picking a winner between the hot, total showman, Super Mario - and the manly moves of Big Easy Emmitt.

The top honors for best star dancer went to Emmitt Smith.
