Dancing with the Stars Season 5
Marie's fans' votes swept her into the semifinal, but one pair had to be eliminated tonight leaving the top two couples to dance for the trophy... Marie came in number three leaving Mel B & Maksim to compete with Helio & Julianne... The competition was tough, but the final was out of this world. Waiting for the winner to be announced was made easier by appearances from all of the dancers from the past season. The talent was amazing, but the highlight had to be the stripped down performance of Cameron Mathison. He promised to take his shirt off at the final and take it off he did... What a wild scene! Mel B & Maksim danced a final Mambo to knock your socks off. The judges said: Len - This mambo was incredible. Carrie Ann - You dance like you were born to mambo. Bruno - Out of this world... The scores Len - 10 ; Carrie Ann - 10; Bruno - 10. Combined with last night 85 out of 90. Helio & Julianne came out with a Quick Step. Helio's yellow suit with spats, dips, swirls, jumps and a major kiss to seal the dance wowed the crowd. The judges said: Len - Great dancing. Carrie Ann - My favorite dance. Bruno - Wow, the turbo was engaged... The scores Len - 10 ; Carrie Ann - 10; Bruno - 10. Combined with last night 84 out of 90. What did the audience vote say? Helio & Julianne take the trophy! ************************************** Drew Lachey filled in for Samantha whose baby, Josselyn Sydney arrived the day before the premiere, but now the beautiful hostess is back! Marie Osmond danced a hot Samba and as Len started to talk, she collapsed... cut to commercial... no worries, she just fainted. The season started off with a three-night "Dancing with the Stars" premiere event, with two nights of performance shows leading into a special Wednesday night results show.

Two new professional dancers join the cast this season. Samantha, the new mom, has returned for the fifth season, but until she made it back Drew Lachey held the show together as dancers walked away from the judges comments. None of the judges have lowered their standards and comments are a sharp and tough to take as in the last few seasons. Alec Mazo and Edyta Sliwinska are now married. They tied the knot in September. Will this make a difference in the competition? With Alec out after the first dance... guess we won't know until next season. The first couple eliminated were Josie and Alec. It's always hard to see a star get voted off, but pretty Josie was no surprise. She had model looks, but her dance moves were not spectacular. The next couple was a shocker. Albert Reed, also a model, rocked the show with his hip action in the first round. The second dance was not as hot, but not bad at all. Guess the fans didn't vote enough or he didn't have enough fans to keep him dancing. Jane Seymour missed the results show due to her mom's death in England... she also missed the results show on October 30 with food poisoning, but she'll be back dancing again. Wayne Newton got the red light treament after putting on a lackluster performance on the dance floor. Despite a huge fan base and his reputation as the King of Las Vegas, the dance floor just wasn't Wayne's strong suit. He did come back singing "Danke Schoen" ( Thank You) to the delight of the fans. Week four saw Floyd Mayweather get knocked out, but he did manage to plug his upcoming fight before leaving. Meanwhile, Mel B paired with Maksim Chmerovsky is going to be a hard to beat combo, but Brazilian race car driver Helio Castroneves has to be the best natural dancer and when he hits the floor with Julianne Hough it's magic. Cameron Mathison works hard to get his moves together, but when he moves with Edyta Sliwinska they make it look easy... J Lo's guest performance was spectacular and the body hiding costumes seemed to be hiding more than her sexy body. Rumors that she may would make a surprise announcement were not true, but... was that a baby bump that peeked out when she twirled? It may be all the confirmation of the baby whispers that her fans need... Then in week six - to everyone's absolute total amazement - Sabrina was in the bottom two and she is gone! The audience boos and judges horror meant nothing... it's all about the audience votes and it seems that other stars have fans behind them The finals are set.
