Born Eva Jacqueline Longoria on March 15, 1975 in Corpus Christi, Texas, the future star of Desperate Housewives grew up on her parents' ranch as the youngest of four girls.

Naturally beautiful, with intelligence to match, Longoria later attended Texas A&M University in Kingsville.

Upon graduating, she entered and won the Miss Corpus Christi USA contest. This soon led to an acting career in Los Angeles where - following a brief stint at stage acting - she joined the cast of the TV soap opera hit, The Young and the Restless playing Isabella Brana Williams.

During her two years on the show, Longoria gained a cult following among the show's many fans as well as an ALMA Award for Outstanding Actress in a Daytime Drama.

Longoria's bid for movie stardom in 2003 saw her appearing beside James Cahill in the forgettable Snitch'd, followed by her breakthrough performance on the small screen as Gabrielle Solis in the TV mega-hit, Desperate Housewives the following year.

She has since become a very popular 'Web celeb' - with plenty of attention paid to the star by a cyber following made up of mostly male fans.

Her two-year marriage to actor Tyler Christopher ended in divorce in 2005.

After subsequently dating 22-year old San Antonio Spurs basketball star player Tony Parker for over a year, Longoria suddenly announced her engagement in late November 2006.

The couple have already married in a civil ceremony in Paris as a prelude to their star-studded wedding bashed. The Desperate Housewives star and basketball star husband are reportedly exchanging wedding vows once again at the lavish Chateau Vaux-le-Vicomte in Parker's native France the day after — on the auspicious July 7, 2007, or 07-07-07.

Eva has already been honored at a wedding shower in April attended by all of her Desperate Housewives co-stars.

Recently named one of People's "50 Most Beautiful", Eva Longoria was also voted by Variety as one of the "Ten New Faces to Watch," Rolling Stone's "People of the Year," and USA Today's "TV's Hot 11". The blushing bride also is signed with an exclusive worldwide contract as the face of L'Oreal.

Eva Longoria Movie Career

Longoria's return to the big screen began in 2006, co-starring role alongside Christian Bale in the indie film "Harsh Times". That same year, she played the role of a Secret Service agent in "The Sentinel", starring Michael Douglas, Kiefer Sutherland and Kim Bassinger. In 2008 she also took the starring role in the film comedy "Over Her Dead Body".
