Born Eva Jacqueline Longoria on March 15, 1975 in Corpus Christi, Texas, the future star of Desperate Housewives and Hollywood movies grew up on her parents' ranch as the youngest of four girls.

Naturally beautiful, with intelligence to match, Longoria later attended Texas A&M University in Kingsville.

Upon graduating, she entered and won the Miss Corpus Christi USA contest. This soon led to an acting career in Los Angeles where - following a brief stint at stage acting - she joined the cast of the TV soap opera hit, The Young and the Restless playing Isabella Brana Williams.

During her two years on the show, Longoria gained a cult following among the show's many fans as well as an ALMA Award for Outstanding Actress in a Daytime Drama.

Longoria's bid for movie stardom in 2003 saw her appearing beside James Cahill in the forgettable Snitch'd, followed by her breakthrough performance on the small screen as Gabrielle Solis in the TV mega-hit, Desperate Housewives the following year.

Longoria's other film roles include co-starring role alongside Christian Bale in the indie film "Harsh Times" in 2006. That same year, she played the role of a Secret Service agent in "The Sentinel", starring Michael Douglas, Kiefer Sutherland and Kim Bassinger. In 2008 she also took the starring role in the film comedy "Over Her Dead Body".

Her next appearance on the big screen was in 2012 when she co-starred with Billy Bob Thornton in "The Baytown Outlaws", followed by co-starring role with actor Ed Harris in the Western drama "Frontera" in 2014. That same year, the actress next returned to television as recurring character Sophie Perez in the Fox comedy series Brooklyn Nine-Nine starring SNL alum Andy Samberg.

Her next foray into television will be in 2015 with the lead role in "Telenovela". The NBC comedy follows a Latin soap opera actress with an off-camera life that rivals the drama of her onscreen persona.

Along with being named as one of People's "50 Most Beautiful", Longoria has also been signed as a Pepsi spokesperson. and more famously as the face of L'Oreal.

Her two-year marriage to actor Tyler Christopher ended in divorce in 2005. After subsequently dating San Antonio Spurs basketball star player Tony Parker, the couple suddenly announced their engagement in late November 2006. The couple were later married in Parker's native France in a very lavish French chateau ceremony in July 2007. The couple's much-publicized storybook wedding was followed by divorce three years later.

Since then, Longoria has been romantically linked to Spanish musician Eduardo Cruz, as well as football star Mark Sanchez, and Televisa president Jose Antonio Baston.
