Is it worth it? Apparently, a lot of people think so worlwide, with evidence in such spinoffs as Fear Factor UK, Fear Factor Malaysia and Fear Factor Indonesia.

The show has garnered so much fanfare that it has officially opened up a live audience participation at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida, Fear Factor Live.

Host Joe Rogan talks a little smack, and keeps the competition alive, by cheering on the scared and grossed-out contestants who get loaded into human cannons or submerged into tanks of eel and snake-infested waters.
