Fool's
Gold
Kate
Hudson & Matthew McConaughey
Star in No-Brainer "Fool's Gold"
The premise
of Fool's Gold is sweet: rekindling a love for your passions.
There are
love scenes, action scenes, and dramatic screaming scenes. The
two main pieces of eye candy, I mean stars, of this wanna be version
of National Treasure are Tess (Kate
Hudson) and Finn (Matthew
McConaughey) who are about to be divorced but are still in
love with each other. These two shared chemistry in "How
To Lose A Guy In Ten Days" and are back together again.
When Tess
threw in the towel in on her marraige, she also gave up on her
other love, recovering a long lost mysterious treasure. Finn is
an unemployed, irresponsible, obsessed treasure hunter willing
to risk everything for this big discovery. Regardless of how much
debt or how many relationships it costs him, it's all worth it
just to pull something valuable from the sand with his own two
hands. For years, Tess and Finn shared this dream and they worked
together tirelessly on a special project. Until Tess finally decided
that it was a lost cause and left him and the project to go back
to grad school.
Now working
on the yacht of richer-than-rich Nigel Honeycutt (Donald
Sutherland) she has accepted her new life and is trying to
move on. Finn finds a piece of the treasure that has alluded them
and on the day their divorce becomes final Finn tells her all
about his latest discovery. Finn loves Tess and, although she
won't admit it, Tess loves Finn. She just doesn't want to get
sucked in again so she refuses to help him. One way or another
Finn gets connected to Nigel, which Tess knew would happen somehow,
and Tess ends up getting wrapped up in the whole rigamarole once
again.
There are
people that Finn owes money, lots of money, one of them being
the owner of the island Finn thinks the treasure is on, famous
rapper/criminal Bigg Bunny (Kevin Hart). Finn worked out a deal
with him to get the resources to keep searching for the treasure.
After not much progress Bigg Bunny is fed up and wants Finn gone.
Another element
to this crazy movie is the violence. The measures that are taken
to eliminate Finn are graphic and should not be seen by young
children. Not to mention the sexual situations that are woven
throughout the scenes. The PG-13 rating should be closely followed.
This is a no-brainer kind of film that is great if you want to
give your mind a rest and just relax while appreciating some finer
specimens of the human body.
