Created by Peter Berg, "Friday Night Lights" airs Wednesdays at 8 pm ET on NBC. Expanding on the hit feature film "Friday Night Lights," this new television series takes us into the lives of the young and the talented. Who knew football could be so intriguing?

Premiering October 3, 2006, "Friday Night Lights" stars Eric Taylor (Kyle Chandler) as the new head coach of the Panthers, a high school football team in a small town. No big deal right? It's only high school football.

The difference is that it's not just any small town - it's Dillon, Texas. In Dillon it is only natural to either play, want to play, or at least watch football. Either way, you still need the local high school team to make it to the state championships. That puts tremendous pressure on the coach. Not to mention that this is Eric's first time coaching high school football. His wife Tami (Connie Britton) is a solid rock for her husband and he gets sound advice from her in times of trouble.

Also starring: Julie Taylor (Aimee Teegarden) as Eric and Tami's daughter, Jason Street (Scott Porter) as ex-quarterback of the Panthers, Lyla Garrity (Minka Kelly) as Jason's ex-girlfriend, Tyra Collette (Adrianne Palicki) as the town hottie, Matt Saracen (Zach Gilford) as the new quarterback of the Panthers, Brian "Smash" Williams (Gaius Charles) as the running back of the Panthers and the one with the best chance at a college career, Tim Riggins (Taylor Kitsch) as the full back of the Panthers and Jason's best friend.

This team has a real shot at making it to the top. Will the team be able to get to states in one piece? Let's not forget the important stuff. You know, like who is doing whose homework and who is kissing who.....
