Gwen Renee Stefani was born in Orange County, California on October 3, 1969.

The former lead singer for No Doubt launched her solo career in late 2004 with the album Love. Angel. Music. Baby.

Before embarking on a professional singing career, Stefani attended Cal State Fullerton when she joined her brother Eric's band, No Doubt as lead singer in 1987.

Eventually touring nationally and releasing their self-titled debut album in 1992, the band slowly grew in popularity. A second album, The Beacon Street Collection, began to win devoted fans, and by 1995 their breakthrough came with the band's third and most successful album, Tragic Kingdom featuring such spin-off singles as Just a Girl, Spiderwebs, and their mega-hit, Don't Speak.

Early solo efforts by Stefani have included joining the Southside remix with techno artist Moby and Let Me Blow Ya Mind with rapper Eve before the much-anticipated Love. Angel. Music. Baby. album released in November 2004 which was certified gold after only two weeks.

The pop icon has also created a "Gwen Stefani approved" line of clothing, handbags and purses under the L.A.M.B. label.

In 2005, she made her big screen debut as screen legend Jean Harlow opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in the Howard Hughes bio-pic, The Aviator.

Offstage, Stefani has been in the news for her role as new mother, having given birth to a son, Kingston James McGregor Rossdale, on May 26, 2006 in Los Angeles. She is expecting her second child due in Summer 2008. Her husband is rocker Gavin Rossdale, the former lead singer of Bush. The couple married in London in 2002.
