Heroes
Super
heroes have been a part of the American culture for years. Superman,
Spiderman,
Batman...all
monumental examples of superhuman powers manifested in the average
Joe. The new generation of superheroes has arrived.
Every
Monday night on NBC at 9 PM ET another piece of the puzzle falls
into place.
"Heroes"
takes us into the lives of super heroes. We watch as people from
all over the globe learn that they aren't exactly ordinary. Each
person has a special ability to do something supernatural, meanwhile
trying to figure out what they have to do with each other. Why
do they have these powers, where did these powers come from, and
who or what is the force behind them?
But
this show is about more than just a battle between good and evil.
What is it like to be able to fly? If you can hear what people
think, what do you do when you hear things that hurt you? What
do you do when you find out that your Dad isn't who he says he
is AND erases people's memories? Is
time travel all it's cracked up to be?
What
if the person your child needs to be protected from ... is you?
"Heroes"
was a smash hit by the time season one wrapped up. People's
Choice Award for Favorite New Drama, and nominated for a Golden
Globe in the Best Drama Series catagory to mention just two.
Now, "Heroes" is on it's way to bigger and better things.
So
who are our heroes and villans for season two premiering September
24?
They
are: Matt Parkmnan (Greg
Grunberg) a cop who can hear people's thoughts, Hiro Nakamura
(Masi
Oka) controls time and space, Claire Bennett (Hayden
Panettiere) the indestructable cheerleader, Mohinder Suresh
(Sendhil
Ramamurthy) the genetics professor's son who followed in his
father's footsteps and in doing so has uncovered a list of people
with super powers.
Peter
Petrelli (Milo
Ventimiglia) is a young dreamer who can fly and absorb other
people's powers. He also tries to convince his politician brother
(who can also fly but would rather not admit it) Nathan Petrelli
(Adrian
Pasdar) that he's not making all this up.
Niki
Sanders (Ali
Larter) is a single mother struggling to make ends meet to
support her young son Micah (Noah
Gray-Cabey) who discovers that her mirror image has a secret.
Sylar
aka Gabriel Grey (Zachary
Quinto) is the bad guy that gains all the powers from whomever
he overpowers. H.R.G. aka Horn Rimmed Glasses aka Mr. Bennett
(Jack
Coleman) is Claire Bennett's father who sacrificed his own
freedom to give Claire hers.
Some
new regulars added to this season's cast are: Takezo Kensei (David
Anders), a legendary 1,000 year old warrior with the power of
immortality, Maya (Dania Ramirez), a Dominican who is on the run
from the police, Ando Masahashi (James Kyson Lee), Hiro Nakamura's
friend, coworker, and travelling companion.
Everyone
of these characters is trying to figure out all of these unbelievable
changes and still live a somewhat normal life. Yet, little do
they know, their job is to "Save the cheerleader. Save the
world."
