Buy Howard Stern Posters at AllPosters.com The self-annointed "King of All Media," Stern begin his radio career as a volunteer at the student station at Boston University, where he received his Bachelor's degree in 1976.

After graduation, Stern worked at several FM radio stations in New York, Washington, D.C. and Detroit before landing a highly visible spot on WNBC-AM Radio in New York.

His big break came when NBC-TV star David Letterman - who became a fan of the shock jock's comedy routines - invited Stern on his late night talk show in 1984 and lauched him into the national spotlight.

However, a year later Stern along with sidekick Robin Quivers and crew were fired from NBC following a particularly outrageous antic, afterwhich the show moved to the FM dial at WXRK.

By the early 90's Howard Stern was the number one radio host in New York City when the show was syndicated nationally by Infinity Broadcasting.

Stern has also published two books: Miss America and his autobiography, Private Parts, the latter eventually becoming a critically praised feature film. Stern has spread his media 'kingdom' into cable television with the The Howard Stern Show, one of the most popular shows on the E! network for more than a decade.

Announcing that he was "tired of all the censorship," Stern moved his raunchy, no-holds-barred venue to pay-per-listen Sirius Satellite Radio in 2006.

Stern added to his already enormous media fortune in January 2006 when Sirius Satellite Radio issued 34,375,000 shares of its common stock to Stern and his agent Don Buchwald at a cost of $220 million.

That same month, marriage rumors swirled around the Shock Jock that he and longtime girlfriend Beth Ostrosky were planning to wed. Despite repeated denials, Stern finally admitted that he had wedding plans on his mind, and formally proposed to Ostrosky in February 2007. They were married in a quiet, private ceremony held at New York City restaurant Le Cirque on October 3, 2008.

Stern and Ostrosky met in 2001, a year after Stern separated from his wife of 20 years, Alison. The couple currently live together in Manhattan and share custody of Stern's three daughters from his first marriage.
