Born Jessica Marie Alba on April 28, 1981 in Pomona California, the hot actress and popular Web celeb was raised as an Air Force brat who moved with her family to various locations in Mississippi and Texas before settling back in California at age nine.

Reportedly a tomboy growing up, Alba's intense interest in sports later turned to acting and, at age 12, she enrolled in her first drama class.

Less than a year later, she landed her first agent who helped cast her in appearances on television shows such as Beverly Hills 90210.

Her film debut came in 1994 in the comedy Camp Nowhere, afterwhich she returned to the small screen in various TV roles such as Maya in the Flipper series, leading up to her most notable role as Max Guevera in the highly popular sci-fi series, Dark Angel which aired on FOX from 2000-2002.

Alba's other silver screen credits also include appearances in Paranoid (2000) and The Sleeping Dictionary (2003).

Her breakout year in films came in 2005, when she was featured in such starring roles as Nancy Callahan in Sin City, and Sue Storm in the summer movie blockbuster, Fantastic Four. Her last big screen appearance was opposite Paul Walker in the thriller Into the Blue.

Although she began 2006 with a nod by AskMen.com, who named her the 'ideal' girlfriend in an online poll, Jessica Alba is also among the nominees at this year's Razzies which has singled her out for dubious achievement as "Worst Actress" for her performances in both Into the Blue and Fantastic Four.

The hot actress is also in the news for a lawsuit she has brought against Playboy for using her image without her consent and causing "immeasurable harm" to her reputation and career.

She most recently appears on the big screen in thriller Awake, in which she stars opposite Hayden Christensen. She also stars in a much-anticipated movie thriller, The Eye, playing an eye transplant patient who suddenly sees into a supernatural world.

Baby News ... and a Wedding

Off-screen, Alba has been romantically linked to director's assistant, Cash Warren, who she reportedly met on the set of Fantastic Four. In late 2007, Alba's publicist announced that Alba and Warren were expecting their first baby, due in early summer 2008.

Most recently, People Magazine confirmed that the Alba and Warren got married in an ultra-secret civil wedding ceremony in Los Angeles. Alba meanwhile was reportedly in "frantic nesting mode" awaiting her new baby, a girl named Honor Marie Warren, born on June 8, 2008. Photos of the baby were published in OK! Magazine in July for a reported payday of $1.5 million for the new parents.
