Turner
The
popular country music singer with the deep baritone voice
and movie star looks was born on November 20, 1977 in Hannah,
South Carolina.
Most famous for almost universal acclaim with the debut of his
right out of the gate hit single, "Long Black Train",
Josh grew up in a devout Christian family and began public singing
with lead parts in his church choir.
After
attending Francis Marion University South Carolina, Turner moved
to Nashville to persue his music career, attending classical vocal
training classes at Belmont University.
Signed
to MCA Nashville Records in 2002, Josh made his debut a year later
with his signature hit "Long Black Train", a country
gospel song he had written while still at Belmont University.
His first album of the same name was released in 2004 and has
since gone platinum.
With the release
of his second album, "Your Man", Turner has his first
No. 1 singles in the title track as well as "Would You Go
With Me".
Turner's most
recent album, "Everything Is Fine", was released in
October of 2007 and resulted in yet another hit single, "Firecracker",
along with Top 20 hit "Another Try", a duet with Trisha
Yearwood.
Offstage,
Josh is married to wife Jennifer who plays piano and backup vocals
in Turner's road band. The couple's first child, a son named Hampton
Otis Turner, was born in 2006.
Recently,
Turner spent time away from the recording studio to appear his
first movie with a small role in Billy:
The Early Years set for release in 2008.
