MAIN Arrow to TelevisionTelevision Arrow to Medium on NBC Medium

Patricia Arquette in Medium on NBCThe grass is greener on the other side...or is it?

If anyone knows, it is Allison DuBois, on whose life the show is loosely based.

Starring Patricia Arquette as Allison DuBois, "Medium" has definitely become quite a "must see tv" show. Moving from its traditional slot Wednesday nights at on NBC, Medium moves to CBS on Friday night in 2009.

Allison Dubois juggles the duties of being a mother of three daughters, a wife, and holding down a job. Big deal, some working mothers might say. The difference is that her job is helping to solve old and new cases with D.A. Devalos (Miguel Sandoval) and Detective Lee Scanlon (David Cubitt) from the district attorney's office by using her dreams, visions, and what she sees in people's minds.

Dead people, for instance, seek Allison out so she can help them get closure. Allison seems to handle everything pretty well. That is due, in part, to her amazingly supportive husband, Joe (Jake Weber). He takes the kids to school, and serves breakfast, and tucks the little kiddies into bed so Mommy can catch a few extra winks.

Seeing things others can't tends to make Allison protective when it comes to her family. Especially when her children begin to show signs of psychic ability. Joe helps keep her grounded and in this realm. Sofia Vassilieva and Maria Lark also star as Ariel and Bridget, the two oldest Dubois children.

The 2005 Emmy Awards were memorable for Arquette. She won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, making this her first nomination and win. She has also been nominated for a Golden Globe. This show is loosely based on the real-life medium Allison Dubois.

If you can't get enough of this "out-of-this-world" show, don't worry. "Medium" will start showing reruns on Lifetime in 2009.
