Rascal Flatts, the best-selling band with an avid fan following among all age groups — is comprised of Gary LeVox (lead vocals), Jay DeMarcus (bass guitar) and Joe Don Rooney (lead guitar).

Bursting upon the entertainment scene in 2000, their first self-titled album was almost an immediate success helped along by their hit single, "Praying for Daylight".

Since then, they have built upon their reputation for spectacular pyrotechnic concert tours that have broken tour attendance records and released a string of hit albums such as "Feels Like Today", "Melt" "Live", and "Me and My Gang."

Combined, they have helped to attract a whole new generation of tween and teen country music fans along with top industry accolades at the ACM, CMA, CMT and Grammy Awards.

Evidence of their sustained success came in 2006 when they were named the top selling artists in any music category. They sold 5 million albums and an almost equal amount of digital downloads with their cover of Tom Cochrane's "Life is a Highway" for the soundtrack of the hit movie CARS. Their latest album, "Still Feels Good" was released in 2007 and went platinum soon afterwards.

Early Career

Second cousins Jay Demarcus (born Stanley Wayne DeMarcus, Jr. on April 26, 1971) and Gary LeVox (born Gary Wayne Vernon, Jr. on July 10, 1970), both hailed from Columbus, Ohio when they founded the group in the late 90's.

They were later joined by Joe Don Rooney (born September 13, 1975 in Baxter Springs, Kansas and raised in Picher, Oklahoma) who was only a substitute when a part-time guitarist failed to show for a Nashville gig one night. Recognizing their unique sound, they trio later recorded several demos for Lyric Street Records — and the rest is music history.

Personal Notes

Offstage, all three band members are happily married family men - with Gary LeVox and wife Tara currently raising two daughters, Brittany and Brooklyn.

Joe Don Rooney and wife and former Playboy Playmate Tiffany Fallon, married in 2006. They welcomed their first child, a son named Jagger Donovan Rooney, on May 31, 2008.

The wife of Jay DeMarcus is a former Tennessee beauty queen, Allison Anderson. The couple reportedly met on the set while DeMarcus was filming the music video for "These Days" and were married in 2004.
