So You Think You Can Dance

Rising from its humble beginnings as an American Idol wannabe — to what is now the summer's season's most highly-rated reality series — So You Think You Can Dance boogies into Season 6. And the action promises to be hotter than ever.

So You Think You Can Dance Season 6 on FOX premiered on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 with Nigel Lythgoe and Mary Murphy returning as permanent judges and Cat Deeley returning to host. This year, Adam Shankman joins the panel as a permanent judge for the first time starting this season.

Owing to it's huge and growing popularity, this season also marks the first time the show will air during the fall season and two seasons back to back. Live shows, in which viewers can vote for their favorite dancers, begins airing October 27.

SYTYCD Season 6 - TOP 20 Dancers

With the first audition weeks done, the series settles into its weekly schedule with shows airing Wednesdays at 8 and Thursdays at 9 as the TOP 20 dancers compete for a chance at dancing stardom:

Throughout Season 6, watch as dancers skilled in everything from ballroom and ballet — to salsa, street, jive, hip-hop and krumping — all compete on stage for their chance to shine.

The judges/choreographers of the competition are Mary Murphy and Nigel Lythgoe, with guest judge appearances throughout the season.

Britain's Cat Deeley, the hot hostess who confesses that she can't dance, always looks forward to a fun season. "Remember, this is not about the best dancers, it's about America's favorite dancers, people who bring that special something that you can't define."
