Soul Train Music Awards
The
Soul Train Music Awards - celebrating its 22nd birthday in 2008
- annually recognizes outstanding performances in R&B, hip-hop,
rap and gospel.
Watch for
nominees to be announced in February 2008 with the tradtional
award show airing in syndication in March with a glittering night
of stars from the world of entertainment.
2007 Soul
Train Awards
In 2007 the
live awards show, co-hosted by Omarion and LeToya, presented last
year's winners on Saturday, March 10 at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium,
and later air in TV syndication March 17-24 (check your local
listings.)
Leading the
21st annual Soul Train Awards nominees was Beyonce,
with three nominations including one for best female album for
B'Day. She was also nominated for best female single, for the
hit song Irreplaceable, and for the Michael Jackson Award for
best music video.
Other stars
receiving two nominations included Mary J. Blige for best female
R&B soul-single for Take Me As I Am, and for best female R&B
soul album for The Breakthrough.
John Legend,
Chris Brown, Ne-Yo and Yung Joc also received double nominations.
