Founded
in 2003, Sugarland is the hot country music duo comprised of Jennifer
Nettles (lead vocals) and Kristian Bush (background vocals, mandolin,
acoustic guitar).
Before
forming the group, singer Nettles led the Jennifer Nettles Band
while backup singer Kristian Bush was a part the Billy Pilgrim
duo. Comprising the original Sugarland trio, folksinger/songwriter
Kristen
Hall left the group in 2006 to pursue a solo career.
Now
taking the country music scene by storm, Sugarland has consistently
topped the charts since signing with Mercury Nashville Records
in 2004. Their debut album, Twice the Speed of Life, quickly went
double platinum spinning off such popular hits as "Baby
Girl", "Something More" and "Down in Mississippi
(Up to No Good)".
Following
Kristen Hall's departure in 2006, Nettles and Bush later released
their second double platinum album "Enjoy the Ride"
resulting in their first No. 1 hits, "Settlin" and "Want
To".
Another Top
Ten hit from the album, "Stay", was later awarded both
Single Record of the Year and Song of the Year at the 2008 ACM
Awards.
Sugarland's most current hit, "All I Want to Do", is
from their third album "Love on the Inside" released
in July 2008.
In 2009, watch
for a nationwide primetime TV special, Sugarland: Live on the
Inside, airing August 3 on ABC.
