Dreidel Cookies

 

Number of Servings: 10
Prep Time: 1 1/2 hrs Skill Level: Easy

Ingredients

1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon grated orange rind
1 cup ground Brazil nuts
2 cups flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. almond extract

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 375F.
2. Cream together butter and sugar.
3. Stir in egg, orange peel and Brazil nuts.
4. In a separate bowl mix flour, baking powder and salt. Add to the creamed mixture and whisk until blended.
5. Stir in almond extract.
6. Chill in refrigerator until dough is firm.
7. On a lightly floured board, roll out dough to 1/8 inch thickness.
8. Cut into cookie cutter dreidel shapes.
9. Bake on ungreased cookie sheets for 8-10 minutes.
