Old Fashioned Egg Nog

Prep Time: 30 mins. Skill Level: Easy

Ingredients


christmas eggnog6 eggs, separated
3/4 cup sugar
1 pint heavy cream
4 pints milk
1 cup brandy
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Nutmeg

Instructions:


1. In a large bowl, beat egg yolks with 1/2 cup of sugar until thick.
2. In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites with 1/4 cup of sugar until stiff.
3. In another bowl, beat the cream until thick.
4. Stir in the cream with the yolks, then gently fold in egg whites,
5. Add milk, bourbon and vanilla and mix well.
6. Chill thoroughly in refrigerator
7. Pour into large punch bowl and sprinkle nutmeg on top before serving.

Helpful Hints:

Although health experts warn against drinking raw eggs, this is still a tradition at our house, where we now add a little extra brandy to kill off the bacteria!
