Ingredients
|
1 cup of cracked wheat (Dalia/lapsi) 1 1/2 of cup water 1/2 cup sugar 1 cup of ghee 1/2 tablespoon chopped almonds 1/2 tablespoon shelled fresh chopped pistachio nut 1/2 tablespoon cardamom powder

Instructions:

1. Dissolve the sugar in 1 cup of water and keep aside. 2. In medium size heavy saucepan heat ghee until hot but not smoking. 3. Add dalia - cracked wheat. 4. Cook till the dalia/lapsi begins to brown stirring to keep from burning. 5. Add sugar/water mixture and bring to boil till stirring the pot. 6. Add the remaining water to roasted cracked wheat stirring more gently. 7. Continue cooking until the Dalia becomes soft when it is pressed and the ghee separates along the sides of the pan. 8. Garnish with the chopped almonds, pistachios and cardamom powder. 9. Serve.

You may want to serve this pudding with cream, but it is rich and sweet enough to serve plain.
