Chocolate Chip Cheesecake Recipe

Ingredients:

- 1 1/2 cup crushed Oreos (or your favorite cookie)
- 1/4 Cup of sugar
- 1/3 Cup of melted butter
- 3 eggs
- 24 oz. of cream cheese (at room temperature)
- 1 Cup sour cream
- 1/4 tablespoon salt
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 1 Cup of sugar
- 2 Cups of chocolate mini chips

Instructions:

Start with the crust:

Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C)

Mix the crushed Oreos, 1/4 cup of sugar and butter in a bowl

Take the mixture and press it on the bottom and sides(1inch) of a greased 9 inch springform pan

Put this in the fridge. It is time for the filling:
Beat the cream cheese and sugar together

Add one egg at a time and beat until smooth

Add the sour cream, salt, vanilla and the chocolate chips and stir

Add this filling to the crust

Let it bake in the prepared oven for 45 minutes, until puffed and golden brown

Cool it to room temperature and serve chilled

There are two questions I often get asked by my friends:
“What chocolate can I use?” and…

“What cookie should I use for the crust?”

The answer… it doesn’t really matter.

This is a very versatile dish and you can use any of your favorite cookies or chocolates and the result will still be good. Personally, I prefer using Oreos cookies. Give it a try, and see what you think!


-Tips and Tricks!


For a sharp appetizing look garnish with chocolate curls.

Serve with fresh strawberries to the side and top with sweetened whipped cream for extra presentation.

For a more creamier, delicious and better look melt the chocolate chips in the mix.

To avoid the cake from cracking place the springform pan into a larger pan of boiling water and let it bake.

-Frosted Chocolate Chip Cheesecake:

For a funkier version of the original chocolate chip cheesecake recipe add a touch of frosting. The Kids will love it!

Here is how to make the frosting:

Chop 4 ounces of a milk chocolate candy bar.

Place in a bowl and microwave. Stir it occasionally until it is smooth.

Cool to room temperature and pour on top of the cheesecake.


-Baileys Chocolate Chip Cheesecake:

No rocket science here, just add 1 cup of Baileys Irish cream after you have added the eggs, and proceed with the rest of the above steps
