Clover Shortcake Biscuits

 

Number of Servings: 7
Prep Time: 35 min Skill Level: Average

Ingredients:

2 cups sifted flour,
1 tsp baking powder,
1/2 tsp baking soda,
1/4 tsp salt,
1/4 cup sugar,
4 Tbsp unsalted butter,
Red Clover Blossoms - 1 heaping Tbsp that have been dried, crumbled & sifted (no stems),
1 cup sour cream,
1/4 cup milk,
1/4 cup spring water (optional)

Instructions:

1. Mix all the dry ingredients
2. Cut in the butter with a fork
3. Add dried clover blossoms
4. Add sour Cream & milk, stir together
5. Add spring water if needed to bring dough together
6. Spoon out 6-8 portions on a sheetpan with parchment paper
7. Sprinkle sugar on top
8. Bake at 475 degrees for about 10 minutes

Helpful Hints:

In place of clover blossoms, you could also use lavendar or rose petals, any edible flower would do depending on the occassion - get creative!
